September dance highlights
It was great to see y'all in your denims, having a blast at our dance last month. Everyone was again invited onto the dance floor for a Paul Jones mixer, and this is turning out to be a fun way to meet new dance friends to enjoy a fun evening. We also tried a new idea - a free dance lesson - Merengue - and we'll do this again in the future - but not this month.

September21 - DENIM DANCE PARTY!
Please join us at our September Denim dance for a fun night of dancing with your friends and making new ones!
We are introducing a dance workshop to kick off our evening! We will start this September with a merengue dance lesson by Monica from Aguanile Ottawa.
Participation in the workshop is optional, but why not try it out and maximize socializing?
Merengue is an easy, beginner-friendly Latin dance and our DJ will play some merengue tunes throughout the evening for all of us to practice. Should be tons of fun! As usual, we will have a door prize to give away and our exciting 50/50!

August dance highlights
At our Hawaiian-themed August dance, we had some colourful and lively patterns. Dresses, shirts and foliage print flowed to the music.
We invited everyone onto the dance floor for a Paul Jones mixer, and this turned out to be a fun way to find new dance partners to enjoy a fun evening!
Once again, Casa Mexico restaurant in Kanata donated a generous door prize.
Our 50/50 draw was for $81 this month.

Our "Proud to be Canadian" dance last month was a lot of fun. It was great to see many of our regulars and several "first timers" too. Many attendees dressed in red and white and our volunteers decorated the hall beautifully. We enjoyed celebrating our country, and our DJ Bob kept us dancing the night away to tunes featuring Canadian artists.

Our "Disco Dance Fever" dance last month was a terrific success - Best attendance all year!
So much fun to see many attendees dressed in "disco" style. We saw flared bell-bottom pants, neon colours, afro wigs, peace signs and flashy shoes! Our DJ Bob kept the dance floor busy all night, with the aid of his sparkling disco ball. Our volunteers - again - wowed us with wonderful decorations in the hall. Huge thank you to everyone who made this a special night.

Bring in the Green!
Our KDC dancers celebrated St-Patrick’s day by dancing and having fun.
The dance floor was a sea of green celebrating the dancer’s Irishness (even if it was only for one night…)
When an Irish tune came on we even had a few dancing an Irish jig!
Fun was had by all and no green beer was involved!

Kanata Dance Club ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) March 9, 2024!
Our AGM will be held on Saturday March 9, 2024, from 6:45-7:15 PM. Doors open at 6:30 for registration.
Your support in the planning for 2024 to guarantee our dances continue to be successful and to review fiscal 2023 would be appreciated. We invite all interested KDC members to attend our meeting prior to the evening's dance.
Ladies in Red Valentine’s Dance!
It was great to see everyone at the Ladies in Red dance on February 10, 2024. The crowd that showed up gave us a spectacular line dance performance that filled a third of the dance floor!
All the Ladies in Red were wearing their red finery, in fact, many of the gentlemen were also wearing red!
Our members showed their dance moves in a fiery way, and we all had a grand time dancing the night away.

February 10 - Ladies in Red
All that Sparkles - Our First Dance of 2024!
It was lovely to see everyone at the first dance of 2024 on January 13. It was great to see the crowd that showed up to attend the dance, even though Mother Nature gave us a late New Years gift. Our members did not limit themselves to just gold and silver, there was sparkly finery of all colours of the rainbow and the crowd was enthusiastic in showing their dance moves in a sparkly way. We all had a great time dancing the night away…

January 13 - All That Sparkles
Happy New Year!
We loved seeing all of you at our Christmas dance. The music was great, the decorations were wonderful and we had a blast dancing and mingling together. We also proudly made a $500 donation to the Kanata Food Cupboard as the board decided not to wait until the AGM in March, given the high needs in our community this year.

Hi everyone!
Hope you’re having a great summer and it’s just a couple of weeks more until we meet again!
Let’s capture the beautiful moment of dancing during a summer’s sunset and bring it to our August 26th dance. We’re taking a break from the dance theme this month which means … just dress to impress! They’re at the Dance !
Hello Everyone!
We welcome you to join us on June 17th for a pre-celebration of Canada Day and an evening of fun, dancing and socializing as we build our community of friends!
Our dance theme is “I am Canadian” and we invite you to celebrate by wearing your favourite red and white outfit. The highlight of my evening is welcoming everyone at the entrance and seeing the number of dancers who enjoy participating in the theme!
LAST MONTH’S DANCE (May 20th)
Despite it being Victoria Day long weekend we had a great turnout! Our ‘Black and White’ theme was a popular one and we thank all participants. Check out the photos on our Facebook site!
DOOR PRIZE WINNERS - Congratulations to:

* Maurice (wore a tuxedo) and Marla who complemented in a lovely black dress; and
* Michelle and Bob - a team effort: Michelle looked chic in a lovely little white dress and Bob complemented her look with his dark suit.
‘Birthday Club’ winners: We celebrated ‘Taurus in the house’. Belated happy birthday wishes to Brian and Henry.

Wow, we had a great turnout again last month for the ‘Spring Fling” dance on April 22nd! It was a pleasure to meet newcomers and some dancers from years past! Kanata Dance Club is quickly becoming a wonderful community of friends and a fun place to go on a Saturday evening!

‘Spring Fling” theme winners: My goodness there were so many … Congratulations to Bentley and Leslie, Best Friends Tammy and Maxime, June, Chander, Paula and Adda who looked quite “spectacular” in the beautiful colors of Spring.

What a great turn out for the Winter Sparkles Dance on January 14, 2023! Wow, we had fun and most danced the night away right up to the last song. There was sparkle everywhere – who would have thought that everyone owns a sparkle something … ?!
DOOR PRIZE WINNERS
We had 2 themes for our door prizes …
‘Sparkle Group’ winners: Congratulations to Dave, Sharon and Peter for their sparkle x 3! They were winners of the mystery lunch bag prize… Dave’s sparkle outfit was unforgettable, Sharon looked glamourous in a vintage sparkle top and skirt, and kudos to Peter for his sparkle shirt!
‘Birthday Club’ winners: We celebrated “Capricorns in the House”. We had 2 winners, Lorraine and Gordon. Gordon had birthday luck on his side as he also won the 50/50 raffle prize!

OUR FIRST DANCE OF 2023 IS COMING UP SOON!
Join us for our Winter Sparkles Dance on January 14, 2023 where we celebrate the sparkle,
glitter and bling-bling of New Year’s celebrations! There must be something in your closet that
sparkles – time to bring out the glittery top, skirt, dress, hat, and maybe …. sparkle socks? Wear
your favorite glitter clothes and join us to ‘Sparkle’ and Dance the night away!

Our door prize theme was ‘birthdays’ and we celebrated the ‘Sagittarius birthdays in the house’.
